C. Admission Requirements
Placement auditions are required for all new students.  Advancement in our classes is dependent upon consent of the instructor based on prior student performance/experience.

D. Adding or Dropping Classes
Understand to add or drop a class; the front desk must be notified. Monthly tuition will continue to be applied until notification has been received. Understand that the student is responsible for all charges.

E. Absences & Make-ups
Understand that Finch Studio Space must be notified if a student will be absent. In the event of an injury, if able, the student should attend class to observe. You must call the office at 845.535.3103 if you are going to miss class for any reason or will be late for class AT ALL. Make-ups are permitted only if you have prepaid tuition; you have 30 days from the time you miss the class to make it up. Make-ups are limited to absences due to illness only and may be done in a class of similar level that you are not registered in.  For voice lessons/music lessons all student absentees must contact the office at 845.535.3103 at least 24 hours before your scheduled lesson to request a make-up lesson. In the case of an illness or emergency, in which you are unable to give 24 hours advance notice, please call as soon as possible prior to your lesson time. Any lessons missed without prior notification will not be eligible for make-ups, and the full lesson fee will be charged. You must check in at the front desk prior to the make-up class.

M. Classroom Policies
Active participation in class is strongly encouraged.  Learning how to watch and critique other students work and formulate articulate, constructive criticism will broaden and deepen your understanding of your own process.  Focus on making your feedback constructive and positive.  Avoid talking about symptoms or technical problems.  Because we consider your experience observing your classmates’ work to be such an integral part of your own learning process, we strongly discourage leaving class early.  If you must leave class early, please let the office or your instructor know as soon as you know so that we can make any necessary adjustments to the schedule.

N. Prep Work and Arrival Times
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to class start.  Use this time to get yourself focused and ready for class. If you are given an assignment in advance, you will be expected to prepare and be ready by the time you arrive for class. The moments before class are a great time to review what you’ve already done- not to do your initial work.

O. Eating and Drinking
Eating and drinking in class is prohibited during class time. Breaks are provided for eating & drinking but please pick up after yourself.  Please keep your work space clean for your fellow students.

P. Cell Phones and Texting
The use of cellphones and texting are strictly prohibited during class. If you have a cell phone, please turn it off or put it on silent during class. Cellphone use and texting is NOT permitted during class time under any circumstances. All of us at Finch Studio Space want your time here to be positive, productive and exciting. Please feel free to talk to us if you are having problems or just need to talk about your process.  This is a teaching institution, so the more open, honest communication we have, the better it will be for all of us.
